The Adaptaur is a breed of cattle developed on the Belmont Research Station near Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. It is found mainly in tropical areas of northern Australia.

The Adaptaur is a medium-sized animal with a short coat that has a dark red pigmented color. The breed matures fast, it is resilient to tropical heat, internal parasites and some have a gene that allows the animal to be resistant to cattle ticks and worms.

The Australian Hereford Society is assisting with more frequent embryo transfers of the gene. Significant amounts of hybrid vigor can be produced in the process of crossbreeding.
