Annals of Botany

Annals of Botany is a peer-reviewed scientific journal established in 1887 and is published monthly by the Oxford University Press. It is supported and managed by Annals of Botany Company, a non-profit educational charity established to promote plant science around the world. The journal has editorial offices located in Australia, Japan, UK and USA.

The journal publishes full-length research papers, short communications, review articles and book reviews. The journal also publishes “Botanical Briefings” — short commissioned reviews that appear in both printed and electronic forms and that are accessible electronically free of charge. All papers in each issue are summarized briefly in Content Snapshots and a selection is reviewed in more detail in Content Select.

The journal’s website allows users to search for back issues as far back as 1993. A thorough review process ensures that readers are exposed to genuine and novel advances across a wide spectrum of botanical knowledge.

According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal’s 2009 impact factor ranked it18 out of 172 in the category “Plant Sciences.”
