Applied Physics Letters

Applied Physics Letters is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published weekly by the American Institute of Physics. It was established in 1962. As of May 2012, the editor-in-chief is Nghi Q. Lam (Argonne National Laboratory). In 2009, this journal ranked 1 of 105 journals in the category “Applied Physics.” This ranking was also achieved in 2010.

The focus of this journal is rapid publication and dissemination of new experimental and theoretical papers regarding applications of physics in all disciplines of science, engineering, and modern technology. Additionally, there is an emphasis on fundamental and decisive new developments which lay the groundwork for fields that are rapidly evolving.
