Azores Cattle Dog

The Azores Cattle Dog, also known as the Cão Fila de São Miguel or São Miguel Cattle Dog originated on the largest island in the Azores, São Miguel. It was recognized in 1995.

The breed is medium-sized and muscular, with a strong jaw. Its tail is usually docked extremely short and its ears are cut round.

The Azores Cattle Dog is a descendent of the Terceira, an extinct breed. It was bred to work cattle, but it can tend toward aggressive behavior.
