Biomedical Imaging and Intervention Journal

Biomedical Imaging and Intervention Journal (BIIJ) is an online open-access peer-reviewed medical journal published quarterly. The first issue was published in July 2005. The journal publishes video recordings of presentations at selected meetings, conferences, and seminars, which may be used for educational purposes. All video publications since November 2009 are also available on SciVee.

BIIJ’s costs are met by donations from regional and international biomedical imaging industry and from the University of Malaya. It also receives support from many regional associations and societies. It is also sponsored by several companies including General Electric, Siemens, Bayer, Toshiba, Philips and FUJIFILM.

As of 2009, BIIJ is the official publication of the ASEAN Association of Radiologists, ASEAN Society of Interventional Radiology, Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics, Asian Oceania Society of Radiology, College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, Southeast Asian Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics, and the South East Asian Association of Academic Radiologists.

This was Malaya’s first online-only academic journal and was ranked first in the country in 2008 using the SCImago Journal Ranking indicator.

The journal is indexed by Scopus, EMBASE, Compendex, EBSCO, Chemical Abstracts, and Inspec. Journal contents are also made available via PubMed Central and DOAJ.
