Circulation is a scientific journal published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins on behalf of the American Heart Association. In 2008 the journal added six subspecialty publications: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, Circulation: Heart Failure, Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging, Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions, Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes, and Circulation: Cardiovascular Genetics.
Circulation publishes articles related to research in and the practice of cardiovascular diseases, including observational studies, clinical trials, epidemiology, health services and outcomes studies, and advances in applied (translational) and basic research.
Papers published in Circulation are open-access after one year of publication. Immediate access to full-text papers less than a year old requires subscription to the journal.
The journal ranks first among journals in the categories: “Cardiac and Cardiovascular Systems,” “Hematology,” and “Peripheral Vascular Disease.”
