Cuban Mastiff

The Cuban Mastiff, otherwise known as the Dogo Cubano or Cuban Dogge is an extinct molosser type dog, originally bred in Cuba. The Cuban Mastiff was often used for dog fighting.

The Cuban Mastiff has a mostly white coat and is very large. It can weigh nearly 100 pounds, and closely resembles the Argentinean Mastiff.

The breed was introduced in Cuba for capturing slaves who had run away, also called cimarrones. Once slavery was eradicated, the breed ceased to exist mostly due to feeding expenses.
