Kindle Fire HD

The Kindle Fire HD is the second generation of Amazon’s Kindle Fire. It comes in three versions, the 7 inch, and the 8.9 inch touch screens, and a 4G version. They were released on September 14, 2012 in the 7-inch, November 16, 2012 in the 8.9-inch, and a 8.9-inch 4G enabled version released on November 18, 2012.

The 7-inch and the 8.9-inch have 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage and the 8.9-inch 4G LTE has 32 GB or 64 GB of storage. It has a front facing camera for photo capture, and video calling with Skype. The battery offers 11 hours of reading, surfing the net, watching videos, or listening to music.

The 7-inch version has a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 processor, and the 8.9-inch uses the OMAP 4470. All three models have Dolby Audio with dual driver stereo speakers, two Wi-Fi antennas, and Bluetooth connectivity for a variety of wireless accessories.

These accessories include: Batteries, cables, car chargers, wall chargers, covers, cases, a cradle, headsets, keyboards, screen protectors, external speakers, pens, and vehicle mounts.

The Kindle Fire HD has access to over 23 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, books, audio books, games, and apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Netflix. Free unlimited storage for Amazon content is available. Also, Kindle Free Time Unlimited is a just-for-kids service, offering access to books, movies, games, apps and more.
