The Kromfohrländer is a German companion breed which originated in Germany in the 1940s. The breed originated when two mutts were mated, or possibly a Fox Terrier and a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen. The breed was first recognized in 1955.

The Kromfohrländer stands 15 to 18 inches tall and weighs 22 to 31 pounds. Its coat can be short, long, or wirehaired, and can be one of several types ““ short, long, or wirehaired. The Kromfohrländer is generally white with some shade of brown markings.

The breed is fairly easy to train due to its good nature. It is also an excellent hunter.
