The Large MÃ¼nsterlÃ¤nder is a German gun dog breed which was first recognized in the early 1800s. Prior to that, the breed was recognized as only a German Longhaired Pointer color variant. The breed was first introduced in the United States in 1966 and has slowly been gaining popularity.
The Large MÃ¼nsterlÃ¤nder stands 23 to 26 inches tall and should weigh around 66 pounds. It is a muscular breed which is very proportional. It has a firm, dense, medium-length coat which is black and white.
The breed is gentle and calm as well as devoted and intelligent. It is caring toward children as well as a more than competent hunter. It works very close to its handler and is very responsive to commands.
