Masked Water-tyrant

The Masked Water-tyrant (Fluvicola nengeta) is a species of bird found in eastern and southeastern Brazil in the caatinga (an ecoregion characterized by vegetation in the northeastern part of Brazil) and extreme eastern cerrado (a vast tropical savanna ecoregion of Brazil). It is also found along Atlantic coastal regions.

There exists a separate population that ranges on the Pacific side of South America in western Ecuador, and coastal border regions of northwest Peru. The habitat of the Masked Water-tyrant is subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.
