The Millet butterflyfish, Chaetodon miliaris, is a butterflyfish of the family Chaetodontidae found in the eastern Central Pacific from Johnston Island and Hawaii, at depths down to 820.21 ft (250 m). Its length is up to 5.12 in (13 cm).
The Millet butterflyfish is generally yellow or white with vertical rows of spots on the sides. A broad black bar runs vertically through the eye from the edge of the gill cover, and there is a large black spot near the tail.
It inhabits shallow reef flats and seamounts and forms schools at midwater to feed on plankton and benthic invertebrates.
Reproduction is oviparous, with pairs forming during breeding.
