Phrynobatrachus mababiensis is a species of frog belonging to the Petropeditidae family. It is located in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, possibly Ethiopia, possibly Sudan, and possibly Uganda.
Its natural habitats include dry savanna, moist savanna, tropical or subtropical dry shrubland, tropical or subtropical moist shrubland, tropical or subtropical dry lowland grassland, tropical or subtropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, swamps, rivers, freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, arable land, pastureland, water storage areas, rural gardens, ponds, seasonally flooded agricultural land, canals, and ditches.
