Sykes’ Monkey, Cercopithecus albogularis
Sykes’ monkey (Cercopithecus albogularis) is also known as the Samango monkey or the white-throated monkey. It is an Old World monkey that is native to Ethiopia and South Africa. Its range includes the eastern and southern portions of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Although it has a distinctive white patch of fur on the chest and neck and a darker crown, it has previously been considered a conspecific of the blue monkey. It holds twelve recognized subspecies. The conservation status of Sykes’ monkey is of “Least Concern”.
