Tasmanian clingfish

The Tasmanian clingfish, Aspasmogaster tasmaniensis, is a clingfish of the family Gobiesocidae, found around the western and southern coasts of Australia including Tasmania. Its length is up to 3.15 in (8 cm).

The Tasmanian clingfish occurs in shallow coastal and rocky estuaries, often under rocks. It has a rounded caudal fin, and pelvic fins united into a moderate-sized double sucking-disc the posterior half having a fleshy margin. There are no scales or lateral line.

Coloration is variable – pinkish to brownish or greenish, usually with distinct regular dark bands across head and back.
