Theoretical and Applied Genetics

Theoretical and Applied Genetics is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Springer Science+Business Media. It was established in 1929 as Der Zuchter; the name was changed in 1968. Previous editors include H. Stubbe (1946-1976) and HF Linskens (1977-1987). As of May 2012, the current editor-in-chief is Albrecht E. Melchinger.

This journal publishes only original research articles in the fields of plant genetics, genomics, and biotechnology. It presents theoretical considerations in combination with new experimental data indicating relevant applications in plant genetics or breeding.

Theoretical and Applied Genetics is abstracted and indexed in the following databases: Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents, PubMed, Science Citation Index, and Scopus.
