Sony VAIO SZ95

The Sony VAIO SZ95, one of our favorites, is a beautifully engineered notebook with incredible power. The chassis is made of Premium carbon fiber, the same space-age material used on jet fighters and space vehicles. The SZ95's carbon fiber casing is superior to the carbon-composite casing used on the everyday version of the SZ series. Compared to any other notebook material ever used, carbon fiber is better at heat dissipation and has incredible rigidity—very light but very strong. It looks just beautiful. And thanks to its strength, the SZ95 with Premium Carbon casing has an incredibly thin screen module. As you grab the corner to fold it upright for use, you invariably do a double-take, "It's that thin!?"

The SZ95 incorporates Intel's latest technology, with a Core 2 Duo 2.60GHz processor. It also features DVD±RW, and optional 200GB (7200rpm) or 250GB (5400rpm) of storage space with NVIDIA's GeForce 8400M GS graphics card and 1GB RAM (4GB max). Considering its desktop-PC performance, the SZ95s 3.85 lb (1.75kg) weight is quite an achievement.

This fast, powerful notebook also features a 13.3" WXGA TFT, integrated low-profile webcam in the screen module, and Bluetooth. The SZ95 also features a fingerprint security sensor underneath the trackpad.
