By The Associated Press LOS ANGELES (AP) - The sleek'60s drama "Mad Men" made Emmy history Sunday as the first basic-cable show to win a top series award, while the sitcom "30 Rock" and its stars Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin also emerged as winners.

By Chuck Barney Remember when television was regarded as a mass medium? It sure didn't appear to be one during the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards, where much of the love was showered upon basic-cable and network shows that have earned more critical praise than viewers.

Zeljko Ivanek won the Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series in Los Angeles Sunday night for his work in "Damages." Also nominated in the category was Ivanek's co-star Ted Danson, as well as Michael Emerson from "Lost," John Slattery from "Mad Men" and William Shatner from "Boston Legal.""I love doing 'Damages,'" Ivanek said in his acceptance speech.

The AMC show Mad Men was nominated for 16 Emmy Awards, including the one for outstanding drama series, in Los Angeles Thursday. Also nominated in the top drama race are Boston Legal, Damages, Dexter, House and Lost.
