A BLACK Country radio station was last night facing an uncertain future after it was revealed that it is up for sale. Beacon Radio, in Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton, is on the market following Global Radio's pounds 375 million takeover of GCap Media. The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) raised competition concerns about the merger, which saw Global become the country's largest radio group. Media watchdog Ofcom has fined 30 local radio stations, including four in the Midlands, a total pounds 1.11 million over unfair conduct in a listener competition. The fine is the highest total penalty to be imposed for the broadcast of radio content in breach of the Broadcasting Code.
