Swedes Mikael Lundberg and Johan Edfors carded 6-under-par 66s Thursday to share the lead in the incomplete first round of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. Hailstorms caused a lengthy delay that left some players on the course when play in the European Tour event was suspended for the day. Among others who completed their rounds, Oliver Fisher, Jarmo Sandelin and Francesco Molinari were at 67 and defending champion Martin Kaymer was in a group at 68. Edfors, a three-time winner on the European Tour, said: I played really nicely today.

ABU DHABI, Jan 22 - American Chris DiMarco won the inaugural Abu Dhabi Golf Championship on Sunday by one shot to earn his biggest paycheck on the European Tour. The American, who won 275,411 euros ($332,900), carded a closing 67 for a 20-under-par total of 268.
