Adam Lind had three home runs and four RBI Tuesday to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to an 8-7 win over the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox could have clinched the American League wild-card berth with a win, as their magic number is one. Lind had his first career three-homer game, hitting one in the first, fifth and seventh innings.

Texas Rangers outfielder Marlon Byrd was named the American League Player of the Week Monday. Byrd batted .320 while tying for the AL lead with three homers and a league-high 11 RBI during the seven-day period. Byrd's best day of the week was in a 15-3 win over Tampa Bay Saturday, when he hit two home runs -- including his sixth career grand slam -- while driving in five runs. Byrd, 32, won his second career weekly honor.

Rod Barajas hit an eighth-inning RBI double Sunday, rallying Toronto to a 5-4 victory against Seattle. Toronto overcame a 3-0 fifth-inning deficit. Barajas also hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh, giving him two RBI. Jose Bautista had two hits and one RBI, while Kevin Millar and Adam Lind had one RBI

Adam Lind's second homer Saturday, a solo shot in the bottom of the 10th, lifted Toronto to a 5-4 win over Seattle. The homer, Lind's 32nd, broke a 4-4 tie leading off the bottom of the 10th. His 31st, a two-run blast, created the tie with no outs in the eighth, erasing a 4-2 deficit. Jose Bautista

Travis Snider drove in three runs Monday to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 9-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. The Blue Jays had sixth-inning solo homers by Lyle Overbay and John McDonald while ending a four-game losing streak.
