Jonathan Toews scored twice Saturday and the Chicago Blackhawks beat Calgary 3-2 to take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference quarterfinal series. The goals were Toews' first NHL playoff scores.

The Calgary Flames, led by Matthew Lombardi's two goals and one assist, skated to a wild 7-5 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Saturday night. Lombardi's seventh goal of the season was part of Calgary's four-goal second period, and his eighth came at 3:05 of the third. Calgary's Adrian Aucoin, Daymond Langkow, Curtis Glencross and Eric Nystrom all scored once. Todd Bertuzzi had four assists, David Moss and Michael Cammalleri two assists apiece, while Miikka Kiprusoff was credited with 32 saves on 37 shots for the Flames, who have won three of their last four contests. Calgary led 5-2 when the third period started. The Coyotes' Daniel Winnik scored his first two goals this season in the first (power play) and second periods.

Michael Cammalleri delivered a point in his eighth straight game Friday and Miikka Kiprusoff made 28 saves, giving the Calgary Flames a 3-1 win over Nashville. Cammalleri had scored eight goals in his previous four games, but had to settle for one assist against the Predators.

Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff turned back 22 Colorado shots Tuesday as Calgary stymied the Avalanche 4-1. Adrian Aucoin, Rene Bourque, Jarome Iginla and David Moss each buried the puck in the net for Calgary, which has gone 3-5 after a six-game win streak. The game didn't tilt in the Flames' favor until the 7:32 remained in the third period when they broke away from a 1-1 tie with a goal by Aucoin. We worked hard on systems and tonight that was the difference, said Aucoin.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Chicago Blackhawks have signed four-time All-Star goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin to a four-year contract worth $27 million, the club announced Friday.
