After a 3-year break, it's BACK! DanceAfrica Chicago, presented by the DuSable Museum of African American History, makes its first main stage appearance with a West African Odyssey on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 8:00PM at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.
By Sylvia E. King-Cohen, Newsday, Melville, N.Y. Nov. 13--When you think "dance class," you think of working your muscles, but in the West African dance class at The Gloria Eve Performing Arts Foundation in Hempstead, the mind also gets a workout.
Friday evening, the Ko-Thi Dance Company showed off the range of things it does brilliantly, from traditional African dance and music to blues singing. The company also tried something it doesn't do so well swing couples dancing.
