CHAMCHAMAL, Iraq, April 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The recently recovered bodies of more than 100 children who were killed during Saddam Hussein's reign were buried Tuesday in the Kurdish town of Chamchamal. The children had been detained in an internment camp in 1988 during a wave of arrests and attacks on the Kurds known as the "Anfal" campaign.

THE notorious "Chemical Ali", one of Saddam's Hussein's most feared lieutenants, is to hang. He was condemned to death on genocide charges for killing 100,000 people during the 1988 Anfal campaign against the Kurds in northern Iraq. Many were gassed - hence Ali Hassan al-Majid's infamous nickname.
