Washington Redskins first-round draft pick Brian Orakpo signed a five-year deal worth $20 million with $12.1 million guaranteed, the Washington Post said. Orakpo, a 6-foot-3 inch, 263-pound defensive end from Texas, had missed the first two days of training camp but dressed Friday after coming to terms late Thursday. When a guy holds out, it doesn't help him, Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Blache told reporters after Thursday's practice.

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has entered a not guilty plea to charges of reckless driving and having an expired registration. The charges stem from a vehicular crash last December in which another driver was seriously injured. The 6-foot-6 inch, 320-pounder was playing for the Tennessee Titans when he attempted to pass another vehicle, but the driver, Corey Edmondson, 25, of Antioch, Tenn., had to take evasive action, lost control, and crashed into the concrete median. Edmonson suffered severe injuries that left him disabled and since has undergone two surgeries, one for a hip replacement. Haynesworth, 27, signed a seven-year, $100 million contract in February with the Redskins, $41 million guaranteed.

Washington defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been indicted on misdemeanor driving charges related to a December accident in Tennessee. The mammoth 6-foot-6 inch, 320-pounder was playing for the Tennessee Titans when he was charged with reckless driving and having an expired registration. He was indicted in Williamson County. Reckless driving carries a maximum punishment of six months in jail and a $500 fine.
