Minnesota and Detroit will engage in a one-game playoff for the AL Central championship Tuesday to complete the major league post-season lineup. The Twins, who caught the Tigers with a late-season surge, will be the only team ever to engage in a one-game playoff in back-to-back seasons.

Cleveland Indians Manager Eric Wedge was told he won't be leading the team in 2010, the Indians announced Wednesday. The Indians said Wedge and his coaching staff would be replaced after this season. They will, however, finish out the 2009 season.
