DENVER, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cimarex Energy Co. today announced the expansion of its Woodford Shale position in the Anadarko Basin of western Oklahoma. Cimarex has entered into an agreement with Chesapeake Energy Corporation to acquire 38,000 net acres for $180 million.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) and BP America Inc. (NYSE:BP) today announced that BP has agreed to acquire all of Chesapeake's interests in approximately 90,000 net acres of leasehold and producing natural gas properties in the Arkoma Basin Woodford Shale play for $1.75 billion in cash.

Penn Virginia Resource Partners has acquired pipeline assets in the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma and Texas from a private seller for $29.7 million in cash. Funding for the acquisition was provided by borrowings under Penn Virginia Resource Partners's (PVR) revolving credit facility.
