A World Cup qualifying match between England and Andorra may be played before an empty Wembley Stadium because of a planned rail strike, London officials say. Britain's Football Association held emergency meetings with London police, local officials and transportation chiefs Tuesday over fears that a 48-hour strike by subway workers could make for a dangerous situation at Wembley, where 70,000 fans were expected to attend Wednesday's soccer match, The Daily Telegraph reported. Metropolitan Police and the local Brent Council say they are worried about public safety in the event of a strike by Tube workers, fearing that vast numbers of people would be unable to get to and from Wembley.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is prepared to renounce his princely title in the country of Andorra if banking changes do not take place, an official says. French Minister for Family Affairs Nadine Morano said Thursday if officials in the Principality of Andorra do not change the country's secretive banking laws, Sarkozy will officially drop his title of Andorra co-prince, the EU Observer reported Friday. Sarkozy currently shares princely honors in Andorra with the Bishop Joan Enric Vives Sicilia of Spain.

Switzerland said Friday it would alter its international banking policies to align itself with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Although Swiss Finance Minister Hans-Rudolf Merz said Switzerland was not laying to rest Swiss banking secrecy, the government, he said, was ready to begin negotiations on revising double taxation agreements. While the move faces internal opposition in Switzerland, the country faced international pressure and possible sanctions for its status as a tax haven, Swissinfo reported Friday.
