Chinese vice premier meets Dow Chemical's Chairman and CEO BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang met here Friday with Andrew Liveris, chairman and chief executive officer of the Dow Chemical Company.

By DAVID RUNK DETROIT -- Dow Chemical Co. has agreed to buy rival Rohm and Haas Co. for more than $15 billion in cash in a deal that Dow hopes will fuel its growth in a more lucrative wing of the chemical-making business.

They called it Project Achilles. That was the code name given to their secret plan for a $50 billion takeover of Dow Chemical last year.
