FEW of us get to our 60th birthday without a few creaks and groans. So, as the NHS becomes a sexagenarian, we should celebrate the achievements this national institution has made over the past six decades. Yes, we have had to suffer long waiting lists and the fear of catching hospital superbugs.

Health bosses at Swansea University have paid special tribute to Welsh NHS founder Aneurin Bevan on its 60th anniversary. They have taken the step of naming a new set of practice rooms after him.
