Former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress was indicted Monday in a 2008 shooting incident but the grand jury took a pass on ex-teammate Antonio Pierce. Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau said while the New York grand jury indicted Burress on two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment for allegedly shooting himself in a nightclub last November, it returned a no bill on gun-possession charges against Pierce, a Giants linebacker, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported. Burress, who was cut by the team in April, will have to surrender or face arrest.

Three New York Giants workers have testified in wide receiver Plaxico Burress' ongoing nightclub shooting case, a source familiar with the investigation says. The unidentified source said voluntary testimony in the Manhattan grand jury case was offered by Giants director of player development Charles Way; Ronnie Barnes, the NFL team's vice president of medical services, and Jesse Armstead, a special assistant to the coaching staff, The New York Daily News said Monday. Burress, a former Giants wide receiver, is facing criminal charges in relation to accidentally shooting himself in the leg with a firearm at a New York nightclub on Nov.

New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce is facing gun charges stemming from an incident last year involving teammate Plaxico Burress, an attorney says. Michael Bachner, a lawyer for Pierce, told Tuesday's New York Post that New York district attorneys will seek an indictment against Pierce from the same grand jury now hearing evidence against Burress on gun possession charges. Authorities say Burress and Pierce were at a Manhattan nightclub in November when an unlicensed gun hidden in Burress' waistband accidentally discharged, hitting him in the thigh.
