DETROIT, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Chevrolet today awarded Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga a 2010 Corvette convertible, recognizing his outstanding performance on and off the field. Galarraga retired 26 consecutive Cleveland Indians batters on Wednesday evening.

Michael Young was 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored Monday to help the Texas Rangers beat the Detroit Tigers 5-2. Hank Blalock hit a two-run double for the Rangers, who beat the Tigers for the first time since last September.
A two-run homer by Russell Branyan in the eighth inning Wednesday, one of just two hits for Seattle in the entire game, boosted the Mariners past Detroit 2-1. Seattle won for the fourth time in five contests despite being shut down by Armando Galarraga for 7 1/3 innings. Galarraga walked four, but the only hit he gave up was a fifth-inning single by Ryan Langerhans. Jack Hannahan drew a walk to lead off the Seattle eighth and moved to second on a ground out by Ronny Cedeno.
