A BUS company is hoping not only to get Tyneside pupils to school on time, but also to teach them a thing or two when they are there. Arriva, which operates routes across the North East, has launched a new education pack called Getting to School.

Transport operator Arriva has pledged cheaper travel and the freeing up of a key development site in Darlington after taking over Stagecoach's operations in the town. The Sunderland-based company said it would sell its Feethams depot to the council and move to Stagecoach's Faverdale base.
