SPRINGFIELD, Mass., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced a weeklong "Celebration of Basketball" festival leading up to Enshrinement 2010, scheduled Saturday, August 7 through Saturday, August 14, 2010.

Michael Jordan, who helped the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships, is among 16 finalists to be considered for the 2009 class of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

The 2008 Basketball Hall of Fame class includes centers Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing, and five-time NBA champion coach Pat Riley.
