GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Palestinian officials say an Israeli airstrike in Gaza has wounded three militants and tanks have begun moving toward the area. Islamic Jihad says three of its fighters were hit east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.

Israeli troops who swept into Gaza Tuesday were met with gunfire, mortar fire and rocket-propelled grenades by guerrilla fighters. Medical sources told KUNA three Palestinians died and three were wounded, one critically, in an airstrike when special Israeli troops advanced into Beit Hanoun.
