By David Young Hundreds of air passengers were last night advised to make alternative arrangements after it was confirmed that the City of Derry Airport will close later this week due to strike action.

Ryanair has confirmed the forced cancellation of all scheduled flights to and from City of Derry Airport on July 16, 2008 and July 17, 2008 due to strike action by airport workers.

By Lesley-Anne Henry Poor visibility throughout yesterday morning meant that up to a dozen flights at the George Best Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airports were held up, having a knock-on effect on the rest of the day's activities.
