Director Kevin Smith will return to Pittsburgh for an Oct. 25 screening of "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" at the Oaks Theater in Oakmont. Smith will introduce the film and host an after-party at the Alto Lounge in Shadyside. Admission to the film and after party are included in the $50 ticket price.

By Alice T Carter The fall theater season already is off to a strong start with "Wicked" making a return visit to the Benedum Center through Oct. 5. It's the first of a strong lineup of musicals, dramas and less easily categorized nontraditional theater pieces coming our way.

Ann Hamilton, a visual artist known for her eye-popping installations including paper-sucking machines and a weeping wall, is among the winners of the Heinz Family Foundation's Human Achievement Awards.
