Loren Roberts shot a 7-under-par 65 and won the Champions Tour's Boeing Classic at Snoqualmie, Wash., Sunday by a stroke over Mark O'Meara. Roberts birdied the last two holes to finish at 18-under 198. O'Meara closed with a 64 for 199 and Dan Forsman (66) and Bernhard Langer (67) were another three
Loren Roberts and Mark McNulty each fired 7-under 65s Saturday to move into a share of the lead after 36 holes of the senior Boeing Classic. Roberts, who won his second Senior British Open title earlier this year, and McNulty completed two rounds at 11-under 133, one stroke off the tournament's 36-hole scoring record. First-round leader Mark O'Meara (69) dropped into a share of third with Bernhard Langer (66) at 135.
Mark O'Meara eagled the par-5 18th hole Friday and shot a 6-under 66 that put him two shots in front after one round of the Boeing Classic. O'Meara, who has not won a Champions Tour event since he became eligible to play on the circuit in 2005, rolled in an 18-foot putt for his eagle on the closing hole of the TPC-Snoqualmie Ridge course. I hit the ball better at times now than I did in 1998 when I won two majors, said O'Meara, who won the Masters and British Open that year. Tied for second at 68 were Allen Doyle, Mark McNulty, John Jacobs and Loren Roberts, who last month won the Senior British Open. Defending champion Tom Kite was among a group another shot back, at 69.
Bernhard Langer won the Champions Tour's 3M championship in Minnesota Sunday with an eagle on the final hole.
Nick Price shot a 4-under-par 68 Saturday to take sole possession of the lead after the second round of the seniors 3M Championship.
