Billy Bob Thornton's ex-wife says their daughter, who was arrested on child-neglect charges, is devastated about the death of her godchild while in her care. Thornton said he has long been estranged from his 29-year-old daughter, Amanda Brumfield, who was arrested last week in connection with the death of a 1-year-old girl she was babysitting for last October.
The daughter from whom actor and musician Billy Bob Thornton says he has long been estranged was arrested in Florida in connection with a baby's death. Officer Lee Stevens of the Ocoee police department told CNN Amanda Brumfield, 29, was arrested last Friday on child neglect charges after the infant she was watching fell and subsequently died. The news outlet said no other details were immediately available. Thornton's publicist, Arnold Robinson, said the actor has had no contact with (his daughter) for quite some time. When informed about this situation, (Thornton) commented that, 'Anytime a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones,' Robinson told CNN in a written statement. Thornton, 53, has been married and divorced five times and is the father of four children.
