By SIMON CREER An award-winning controversial film about the last days of republican hunger striker Bobby Sands is to be shown at this year's London Film Festival this October.

VISUAL artist Steve McQueen last night won another prize for his film Hunger. The British artist, who won the Camera d'Or Prize at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year for the movie about the Maze Prison, was handed the Gucci Group Award at the Venice Film Festival.

A FILM about an IRA hunger strike in a Northern Irish prison has won an international award. Hunger, which focuses on life at the Maze Prison and the hunger protest in 1981, received the Camera d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday.

A DREAM of walking along the red carpet at the star-studded Cannes Film Festival has been realised by a Welsh businessman. Tony Ray, managing director of Dragon Digital Intermediate (Dragon DI) was at the prestigious festival for the premiere of the movie Hunger.
