Boralex, a private electricity producer, has acquired the rights for a wind project with a potential installed capacity of 100MW in Ontario, Canada.

Canada-based private electricity producer Boralex has signed an agreement to acquire a hydroelectric power station with an installed capacity of 14.5MW located in Ocean Falls, in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Boralex and Gaz Metro have won two wind power projects totaling an installed capacity of 272MW, following a call for tenders by Hydro-Quebec. These two wind farms, located on the private property of Seminaire de Quebec, will be operational by the end of 2013 at the latest.
