By Bruce Henderson, The Charlotte Observer, N.C. May 31--The northern snakehead, an Asian fish that's nearly a yard long, gobbles most anything and can survive awhile out of water, has again been reported in Lake Wylie.
At the moment, a third of the Chesapeake Bay is too sick to support life. The Bays oxygen-starved dead zones caused by algae blooms fed by nitrogen and phosphorous from farms, sewage plants, and lawns have become an annual environmental catastrophe.
