FOSTER CITY, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) announced today that Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Brandon Roy will lace 'em up for the cover of NBA 10: The Inside, due to hit stores on October 6, 2009.
The Portland Trailblazers have signed all-star guard Brandon Roy to a five-year contract extension, Yahoo! Sports said Wednesday. The 6-foot-6 inch former University of Washington product, a first-round pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2006 NBA Draft, totaled 22.6 points and more than five assists in 78 games last season while leading the Trailblazers to the Western Conference quarterfinals against the Houston Rockets. He told KJR radio in Seattle last month that he was frustrated and disappointed with the Trailblazers handling of his contract extension negotiations. Portland parlayed a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter into an 88-77 win over Houston Tuesday to remain alive in their Western Conference quarterfinals. Brandon Roy scored eight of his 25 points in the final quarter as the Blazers turned a 68-64 deficit into a 79-68 lead. Houston battled back to grab a four-point lead with 9:30 to play, but the Portland took the lead for good on a free throw by Steve Blake and three-pointers by Travis Outlaw and Roy with less than 5 minutes remaining. Brandon Roy pumped in 42 points to carry Portland to a 107-103 win over Houston, evening the playoff series between the Trail Blazers and Rockets at 1-1. Roy scored a dozen points in the fourth quarter, which included an 11-1 stretch run by the Blazers, and also pulled down seven rebounds for the game. Portland outscored Houston in the fourth quarter, which began with the game tied 73-73.
