Hollywood actors Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford are teaming up for an as-yet-untitled big-screen drama, CBS Films announced Wednesday. The pair will co-star in what is for now being called The Untitled Crowley Project, said Amy Baer, president and chief executive officer of CBS Films, a division of the CBS Corp. The project, which is based on true events and has an anticipated start date in early April, will be the first movie to go into production for CBS Films. Fraser will play a father who recruits the help of a reluctant maverick scientist (played by Ford) forging an unlikely friendship in a race against time to solve the scientific mystery that could save his family.

Two action films starring Hollywood actor Brendan Fraser are among the seven movies in the running for the Visual Effects Oscar, it was announced Tuesday. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Fraser's Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, as well as Australia, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight, Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Iron Man are eligible for nomination in the Visual Effects category. Nominations for the 81st Academy Awards are to be announced Jan.
