By BRIAN SKOLOFF BRINY BREEZES, Fla. - The would-be millionaires of Briny Breezes trailer park may have lost their big chance.

The town of Briny Breezes has refused an offer extended by the Florida Coalition for Preservation and five neighboring municipalities to participate in an objective, third party study regarding the redevelopment of the Briny Breezes area by the well respected, independent Urban Land Institute.

By Patty Pensa, South Florida Sun-Sentinel Jun. 30--Opponents of plans to transform Briny Breezes into a luxury resort got a boost Friday when the state outlined a series of concerns about affordable housing, the environment, roads and hurricane evacuation.

The Florida Department of Community Affairs, the key state agency regulating new development, today issued a highly critical report of the massive, high-density plan to redevelop Briny Breezes.
