The British Ministry of Defense has begun sending troops on the front lines in Afghanistan new ration packs that include Oreos and chicken tikka masala. The ministry said the multi-climate ration packs, the first updates to Britain's military cuisine since the Cold War era, each contain 4,000 calories, the amount officials determined is needed by a war zone soldier for a single day, The Guardian reported Friday. The new main courses replacing corned beef hash in the ration packs include chicken tikka masala, chili con carne, yellow chicken curry, chicken arrabiata and beef and cassava, each with a side of Oreo cookies. The modern soldier's taste is different, far more international.
