Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) announced today that it has donated $500,000 to the State of California's Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to help support the cost of battling the state's severe wildfires this year.
A fire charring forest land west of Yosemite National Forest and threatening communities in Mariposa County, Calif., continues to spread fast. The Telegraph fire has scorched 29,600 acres and remains 10 percent contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as CAL FIRE, has awarded DynCorp International (NYSE:DCP) a $137.7 million contract to help suppress and control wild land fires.
