By Gail Smith, The Charlotte Observer, N.C. Apr. 27--Two Lake Norman area students are among six winners of a competition for young playwrights. Bethany Corbin of Mooresville and Sam Clemence of Cornelius, both of whom attend Cannon School in Concord, were selected from among 43 entrants.
By Gail Smith-Arrants, The Charlotte Observer, N.C. Feb. 18--Through Saturday, Cannon School is hosting 15 visitors from its Chinese sister school. Eleven students and four faculty members from Tianli International School are touring cultural and historical sites in both Carolinas.
By Sharif Durhams, The Charlotte Observer, N.C. Feb. 18--State transportation officials last week announced their planned detour for when one of Cabarrus County's most popular commuter routes is shut down. Repairs to a bridge on Poplar Tent Road will close the road from March 12 to May 18.
