NBC News' Today program has announced plans to air We The People, a special week-long series about Hispanic America. Set to begin Monday, the series will cover a wide range of issues facing the Hispanic community and examine the successes and challenges of Hispanics across the United States, NBC said in a release.

A TV special called The Oprah Effect, an examination of the influence U.S. media personality Oprah Winfrey has on people, is set to air on CNBC this month. The business-oriented channel's Carl Quintanilla is to serve as host of the one-hour May 28 program. Everybody knows her.
