Kobe Bryant had 38 points Saturday to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 108-94 win over Utah and a 3-1 lead in their Western Conference quarterfinal series. Bryant atoned for his 5-of-24 shooting performance in Thursday's 88-86 Game 3 setback, by sinking 16-of-24 shots in Saturday's contest. The Lakers bounced back from a 25-20 first period deficit to lead 60-53 at the half and a 12-2 run pushed their lead to 88-69 heading to the final 12 minutes. Pau Gasol scored 13 with 10 rebounds.
Deron Williams hit a short jumper with 2.2 seconds remaining Thursday, giving Utah an 88-86 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. After falling behind by as many as 13 points in the third period, Utah rallied to cut its deficit in the opening-round playing series to 2-1.
The Los Angeles Lakers scored 41 points in the first quarter Tuesday and went on to down the Utah Jazz 119-109 in the Western Conference quarterfinals. Kobe Bryant picked up the burden in the second half by scoring 18 of his 26 points in the final two quarters as the Lakers, who lead the series 2-0, out-shot Portland 60 percent to 49.4 percent for the entire game. Pau Gasol scored 22 points for the Lakers and Lamar Odom added 19 off the bench. Utah had 35 points and nine assists from Deron Williams.

Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol combined for 42 points Tuesday, pacing the Los Angeles Lakers to a 125-112 win over Utah to end the regular season for both clubs. The win confirmed that the Lakers and Jazz will face off in Round 1 of the playoffs and that Los Angeles will enjoy home court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs.
